POLL - What is right?

The situation

A Chinese-speaking old man (imagine those uncles that sit at the coffee shops drinking beers and watching soccer) came to me with an iPhone 3GS brochure. He was unable to read the entire paper and needs translation. I read out everything, line by line, for him. He has no idea what an iPhone does, the difference between 8, 16 and 32GB, data usage and probably even how a 2-year contract functions. He wanted to get an expensive price plan because he get to purchase the phone cheaper. Then, he asked if he could cancel the Internet feature, which almost got me fainting.

Problem

This man has a desire to purchase an iPhone for himself because he heard his friends saying there are many “free” things that come with the phone. (I am guessing they were referring to the apps.) Tha might be the main reason that got him excited. But knowing that he does not even own a computer, I was caught in between - to offer other phones to him or help the working team earn more commission?

Million dollar dress made of morethan 1500 Austrian coins. Created by Japanese students in a Tokyo design school, the dress weighed 10 kg while the two jackets weighed almost 21kg. This is crazy. How can the skinny model carry the weight of the dress?!

Travel + Fashion = Dream Job

Sharing similar passion with The Sartorialist, Jason created an awesome website with fashion compilations of people he met in New York. What I love about Citizen Couture is the web interface and awesome shots! I wonder how long it actually took him to establish a reputation in the fashion industry from scratch, being able to have fashion directors and stylists model for him.

If… buying a DSLR camera is his secret, I am going to buy it now. Heh!

So, Chantal caught my attention out of all the models. (http://citizencouture.com/2009/11/spotlight-chantal-designerblogger/) She had on her a simple androgynous outfit, but those shoes…BCBGirls ankle boots?! I like the contrasted texture, quilted leather and golden metallic heels. The photos below are taken from Chantal’s blog, which she had on Free People’s (one of my favorite vintage brand) romper.

Such a small world! I spotted similar dresses in their December Collection last year, would be returning to buy! Hopefully there’s discount!

Umm… the model didn’t do my dresses justice. So never mind that. Nude pink or bluish green? Or neither?! I have so many dresses already…

P.S. I’ve got a sudden love for the name, Chantal. A new addition to my future family of seven?

All thanks to Aaron Lee, Wendy Ang, Eugene Soh and Willam Orchard, ZOMG. Their hard work is finally out and it is AMAZING. The sacrifices these people have made, trust me, is tremendous. Especially Aaron, who had sleepless nights and endless projects to finish.

Thank you so much for staying with us and giving your 101%! Or infinite love into this project. I guess with every project done, we learn something more! We know that we are capable of reaching this standard, and we can push it further!

Perhaps, maybe, soon, we will hear from Calvin Klein, DKNY (Wendy, what’s DKNY?!), Armani, Christian Audigier, I’m naming everything in ION Orchard, and conduct a Fashion in the Sky in Singapore Airlines. HEHEHEHE!

Someday. We will.

Below are some postcards that I have created. Feel free to write to people! Errr… If you have time to print and give out! LOL. Not!

Rate the heels. Better than Alexander Mcqueen? =P
This pair of structured heels by Chau Har Lee is intricately designed to be not just functional, but also a piece of sculpture, an art.

Square toed Marni Pumps

Pretty cute huh. Simple and elegant. I think thin stilettos are a must for office wear, especially if you are wearing power suits with long pants.

My recent craze after I saw a beautiful woman walking out of Meritus Mandarin few weeks back. Low cut silk ruffle dresses, heart.

Heart Necklines

Even though my dream is to wear a Dior corseted gown for my wedding, I have to also consider the finances. What if I marry a poor bloke, you know.

I have stumbled upon this crazy wedding website recently and went nuts over it. Project Wedding, you have turned my boring lectures into minutes of daydreams. That said, I really wonder what necklines will fit me. Not that I have freaking flat boobs, but I really don’t think there’s enough of it to form deep cleavages. And I definitely do not want to look like Patricia Mok in the recent Ren Ci Charity Show. If you did not catch it, she was playing as Taiwanese pop singer, Jolin, and had to draw or had a false implant on her boobs. It was hideous but hilarious.

So, I found happiness in the latest collection of Private Label by G. Pictures!

One-shoulder gown, trend of the season.

Vera Wang is the frequent multi-colored white gowns designer. But I don’t really like most of her work. It does not feel particularly elegant, or maybe I prefer fairy tale gowns. This gown set my heart racing.

This is my favorite out of the three… at the first glance. After a few more look, I really couldn’t decide anymore. Whatcha think? Hot or not? Sadly, these are all heart necklines, hence unsuitable for my body type. All the adoration still remain as a dream.

Immortal Cells

“No one knows why, but her cells never died… It turned out that HeLa cells could float on dust particles in the air and travel on unwashed hands and contaminate other cultures. It became an enormous controversy.”

Scary yet significant (to science) at the same time. How did that part of her cells turned immortal while she died at an early age? The word immortal appeared many times in the article, giving me strange creeps that scientists will discover the key to immortality.
